[25 Jan 2006|12:40am]
Today I rode my skateboard.
It was fun. I kickflipped up the curb by my house.
Then my shoulder hurt.

I want it to be cold.
I want it to rain.
I hate the wind.

School starts on Monday.
I hate the school.

My little brother scored 32 points in his junior high basketball game.
That's pretty good considering his team's final score was 59.
I'll stick to sitting around.

I used to listen to this song a lot. [19 Dec 2005|04:14pm]
Be merciful to me, Lord , for I am faint;
O Lord , heal me, for my bones are in agony.
My soul is in anguish.
How long, O Lord , how long?

Turn, O Lord , and deliver me;
save me because of your unfailing love.
No one remembers you when he is dead.
Who praises you from the grave?

I am worn out from groaning;
all night long I flood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears.
My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
they fail because of all my foes.

Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer.]

My life have I watched being sucked down the drain,
producing black fruit, filled with much pain,
no hope for the future, no joy in the past,
my only prayer is that death will come fast.

My mind's running wild as I look to the sky,
the pain in my heart makes me question why?
My hands they are trembling as I fall to my kness,
It's the spirit of God, dear Lord please save me!
Dear Lord, set me free!

I feel the need for an LOTR marathon.
I know we just did it three months ago. So what. It's amazing.
If anyone else is up for it, let me know, and I'll set up a time.
My hope would be for sometime within the week after finals end, say, between the 17 & 24 or something.

Today was my birthday. It was good. I had a Calculus 3 midterm at 810, and a Chemistry exam at 1030, so those were fun. After that I went to lunch, then played an ultimate frisbee game. We won. I think Sarah is probably the best girl ever. She did a lot of nice things for me today, and pretty much every day. I liked that. A lot of people called me today, and that was nice of them. I got an iTrip, an iPod car charger, and a few CDs that I wanted. Thank you.

I'm a resorptionist. [10 Oct 2005|01:14am]
I had a root canal because the inside of my tooth looked like this:

It was an interesting, but not negative, experience.

I'll leave you with this quote from Dallas Willard:

"But this (true life in Christ) cannot come about unless what Jesus himself believed, practiced, and taught makes sense to us. And his message must come to us free of the deadening legalisms, political sloganeering, and dogmatic traditionalisms long proven by history to be soul-crushing dead ends."

I want to punch someone in the face. [26 Sep 2005|11:16pm]
Me, Elijah, and Hannah just got back from a sweet metal show at the House of Blues Anaheim. We saw A Life Once Lost, Zao, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Unearth. Read on if you so desire:

A Life Once Lost played first. They were boring, and sucked, and no one was getting into them so the singer was mad. We laughed.

Zao played second. They were basically amazing. I was a little worried that they would only play new songs from The Funeral of God because I don't know most of that album, but I was pleasantly surprised. They started off with a song from Funeral of God, but right after that, they played A Fall Farewell. It was sweet. After that they played another new song, then they played, in no particular order, Savannah; Skin Like Winter; Lies of Serpents, a River of Tears; Five Year Winter; and At Zero. It was really sweet and they were really good.

Dillinger Escape Plan came next. They played one song I know called Sugar Coated Sour, which was really cool. The rest of their set was okay. I am not really a fan of them. They were insane. The bass player had a mullet and a sweet mustache. The singer was buff and broke cymbals. The guitar player and singer were both bleeding from the head by the middle of the set. The singer climbed up to the balcony from the stage. It was nuts, even though some of their music sucks.

Unearth played last. They were really good. I only really know one of their songs, but luckily they played it. Endless is an amazing song and everyone should hear it if they want their faces melted by sweet guitar action and their souls crushed by the breakdowns. Anyway, the rest of their set was pretty good. They have amazing guitarists, the singer is super tough, and they were entertaining to watch.

All in all, it was an amazing show and, believe it or not, well worth the $20. To top it all off, the sound guy had a neck-beard that I covet.

Oh, here are some pictures from my floor retreat at Joshua Tree. Sorry I don't know how to LJ cut.

Thunderstruck [20 Sep 2005|10:36am]
Lots of crazy stuff has happened in the past couple days.

Sarah 9 and I are now officially together, and she is awesome. We went to the beach and ate ice cream and ran in the rain and it was fabulous.

Crazy lightning and thunder last night, woke me up at 3 in the morning.

Swimming today was cancelled on account of lightning. What a shame.

The pastor of my parents' church, who has had cancer for a long time, went to be with the Lord on Sunday. It is really sad but at the same time really exciting. He was so amazing. To the very end he trusted God's wisdom and knew that he would be serving God in his life or his death. I pray that I will be as faithful as him someday.

I need to sleep for a week straight.

Now for wrath, now for ruin! [17 Sep 2005|01:57pm]
Last night was the LOTREEMM. It was epic. I kind of fell asleep during a couple short parts of Return of the King, but that's all. I am still amazed at how well done and freaking awesome those movies are. I want to read the books again now, but we'll see how that goes.

LOTR [13 Aug 2005|01:30am]
I had a chat with Josh Matlock, and it looks like next Wednesday is not going to work out for the Lord of the Rings marathon at my church. The new date is Friday, September 16, at my church.

What time does everyone think is best? The movies take about 13 hours. Start at 7? 630?

John, The Scarred is playing that night. Plan on not going to their show.

So I need to know when people are available because I am trying to set up a Lord Of The Rings marathon at my church, hopefully some time in the next two weeks. I was thinking maybe next Wednesday or something.
